Mayor Bob English called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL

C.A.O. Leidgen conducted the roll call. Present were: Mayor English; Commissioners Ed Dahlem, Ben Jackson, and Lois Wagner; Attorney John Singler; and C.A.O. Jim Leidgen. Commissioner Earl Hubbuch and Treasurer Bill Bennett were not in attendance. A quorum of the Commission was present.

PLEDGE

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor English.

RECOGNITION OF GUESTS

There were no guests in attendance who wished to speak to the Commission.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Commissioner Dahlem made the motion to approve the Minutes of the March 25, 2014 regular meeting of the Commission. His motion was seconded by Commissioner Wagner. Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Treasurer Bennett

No report.

ATTORNEY’S REPORT – Attorney Singler

To a question from Commissioner Wagner, Attorney Singler explained the current policy for potential annexation by cities in the Metro area.

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT – C.A.O. Leidgen

C.A.O. Leidgen reported that the annual meeting of the Oxmoor Woods Residents’ Association will be held on April 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Hurstbourne Country Club.

Mr. Leidgen also reported on a rumor pertaining to a possible large gathering of teens at a Jeffersontown business close to Hurstbourne. The J-Town Police Department was successful in cancelling the event.

GENERAL GOVERNMENT REPORT – Commissioner Dahlem

PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT – Commissioner Hubbuch

No report.

CODE ENFORCEMENT/SANITATION REPORT – Commissioner Jackson

Commissioner Jackson referred to an error in an older City ordinance and suggested that all ordinances should be thoroughly reviewed and updated. The City routinely has ordinances codified by American Legal Publishing every five years, and Attorney Singler said the City might want to consider an arrangement with them to post ordinances on their web site. C.A.O. Leidgen will look into this, get a cost estimate, and report back to the Commission.

PUBLIC WORKS – Commissioner Wagner

Commissioner Wagner reported that bricks on the South Lyndon Lane entrance will be cleaned and sealed. Landscaping will be added as well.

At 5:15 p.m. Commissioner Dahlem made the motion to adjourn; his motion was seconded by Commissioner Jackson. Motion carried.
