MINUTES – REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 12, 2024

ROLL CALL
C. C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson conducted the roll call. A quorum of the Commission was present.

Chris Leahy, Commissioner

PLEDGE
The pledge of allegiance was led by Mayor Masick.

RECOGNITION OF GUESTS
Hurstbourne resident and Commissioner-Elect John May was in attendance.

BUSINESS/ACTION ITEMS

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The October 22, 2024 Commission Meeting minutes were presented for approval. Commissioner Jackson
made a motion for approval of the minutes and his motion was seconded by Commissioner Leavell.
Motion carried unanimously.

C. C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson—Management Report
C. C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson stated that due to the upcoming holidays, a motion is needed by the Commission
for cancellation of those dates. Mayor Masick made a motion to cancel the Commission meetings for
November 26 and December 24, 2024; however, at the December 10, 2024 Commission meeting the
swearing in of the Commission will occur. Her motion was seconded by Commissioner Jackson. Motion
carried unanimously.

C. C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson stated he will be going on vacation for a few days; however, he will remain
available through his phone and emails.

Lastly, Mr. Johnson introduced Municipal Order 24-16—RELATING TO SURPLUS PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CITY OF HURSTBOURNE. He explained that the refrigerator and dishwasher at City
Hall need to be replaced and they will be donated to charity. The price of the replacements will be $1.046
with free delivery. Commissioner Jackson made a motion to approve MO 24-16. His motion was
seconded by Mayor Masick. The motion passed unanimously.

COMMISSION REPORTS

MAYOR’S REPORT
Mayor Masick reminded the Commission that the Jefferson County League of Cities dinner will be
Thursday, November 21, 2024. The Hurstbourne annual Holiday Dinner will be on Friday, December 6,
2024 at the Hurstbourne Country Club.

PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT – Commissioner Norton
Commissioner Norton had no report.

GENERAL GOVERNMENT REPORT – Commissioner Jackson
Commissioner Jackson had no report.

PUBLIC WORKS – Commissioner Leavell
Commissioner Leavell had no report.

CODE ENFORCEMENT/SANITATION—Commissioner Leahy
Commissioner Leahy had no report.

ATTORNEY’S REPORT – Attorney John Singler
City Attorney John Singler had no report.

CITY ENGINEER’S REPORT—Chris Crumpton
City Engineer Crumpton reported the Seaton Springs project was fifty percent completed. There was a
discussion about the Lowe Elementary Safe Routes to School Grant project and C. C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson
stated he will contact the school’s principal for an update.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Treasurer Mike Rhodes
City Treasurer Mike Rhodes reported that there will be Treasury Bills maturing in November and
December 2024.

OTHER NON-BUSINESS/ACTION ITEMS

At 4:58 p.m., Commissioner Jackson made the motion to adjourn. His motion was seconded by Mayor
Masick. Motion carried unanimously.
