Mayor Bob English called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
C.A.O. Howard conducted the roll call. Present were: Mayor Bob English; Commissioners Dick Hays, and Lois Wagner; Attorney John Singler; and Administrative Officer Ron Howard. Commissioners Dahlem and Hubbuch were not in attendance. Mr. Howard determined that a quorum was present.
PLEDGE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor English.

BUSINESS ITEMS
- None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
- Commissioner Wagner made the motion to approve the minutes of June 22, 2010 as distributed. Her motion was seconded by Commissioner Hays. Motion carried.
ATTORNEY’S REPORT – Attorney Singler
- Attorney Singler reported that the lease for the proposed Oxmoor Woods entrance is being processed through Metro Louisville.
- Attorney Singler and C.A.O. Howard are working on a number of enforcement issues.
ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT – C.A.O. Howard
- C.A.O. Howard reported that estimates are being received for cleaning up the entrances at Shaftsbury and Chadwick. Electricity has already been installed.
- Mr. Howard stated that he is very concerned about the reliability of the newest census count in Hurstbourne, especially since he felt that the 2000 count was also incorrect. He has spoken with a census official about his concern.
- Jefferson Development Group has begun the process of cleaning up their property.
- A new tenant will be opening in the building which was previously occupied by Lone Star restaurant.
- There was discussion about the placement of signs on Hurstbourne Parkway and Shelbyville Road – City of Jeffersontown has a sign that appears to incorrectly identify their city limits. C.A.O. Howard has spoken with the mayors of both Lyndon and Jeffersontown. Both are receptive to a City of Hurstbourne sign. He asked the Commission to give some thought as to how to correctly remedy the matter.
- C.A.O. Howard referred to drainage issues in the city, specifically at an area behind Lowe Elementary School. MSD has not been keeping this area cleaned out and several homes were flooded during a recent rain storm. There are also other unresolved drainage issues in the City. Mayor English made the motion that the city manager ask MSD to send representatives to a future Hurstbourne Commission meeting. His motion was seconded by Commissioner Wagner. Motion carried.
- Mr. Howard reported that Kathy Petricek will have surgery on July 26 and will be out of the office for approximately six weeks.
MAYOR’S REPORT – Mayor English
- Mayor English received a letter from a city resident expressing his concerns with the annual city-wide yard sale. A copy of that letter was distributed to the commissioners.
PUBLIC WORKS REPORT – Commissioner Wagner
- Commissioner Wagner has received the bid package for the city’s proposed paving.
- She stated that the entrances at Shaftsbury and Chadwick are looking much better after some of the shrubs have been trimmed.
- The next city concert will be on September 19.
CODE ENFORCEMENT/SANITATION REPORT – Commissioner Hays
- Commissioner Hays stated he had a matter to discuss but would wait until all Commissioners are in attendance.

- At 5:20 p.m. Commissioner Wagner moved adjournment; her motion was seconded by Commissioner Hays. Motion carried.
